Volunteers are an essential part of St Albans Wood Recycling. We offer the opportunity to learn more about recycling and the prevention of waste, and the chance to learn and develop the skills involved in creating useful items out of recycled wood.
Volunteers come from all backgrounds ranging from those with learning difficulties to those who have held senior positions in business. All that’s required is a willingness to join in and help.
Volunteers don’t need to have woodworking skills, just a willingness to contribute your time and enthusiasm to the aims of the Project. The work can often be quite physical, involving moving timber, working outdoors or driving one of our trucks. However, we also welcome volunteers who would like to offer their time and abilities in other areas such as helping to maintain our website, administration, selling on e-bay, social networking, marketing and accounts.
All volunteers are provided with basic health and safety training and equipment and we can help you to develop new skills through further training.
